1962年生于湖南临澧，原名阚勒。
1984年毕业于湖南师范大学美术学院。
1995年结业于中央美术学院。
2008年中央美术学院油画系访学。
现任中南大学建筑与艺术学院副教授，中国美术家协会会员，湖南美协理事，水彩艺委会主任。居住于北京与长沙。
born in 1962, in Lin Li of Hunan Province; formerly known as Kan Le(阚勒). In 1984, he graduated from Fine Arts Academy of Hunan Normal University. In 1995, he was certificated from Central Academy of Fine Arts. In 2008, he studied at Oil Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts as a visiting scholar.
He is currently working at the Architecture and Art Department of Central South University as a professor, member of Chinese Artists Association, and director of Hunan Artists Association, the chairman of Watercolor Council. He lives in Beijing and Changsha.
